Why God Led Me to Start Our Threads of Grace
There are seasons in life when the weight of disappointment, grief, failure, or loneliness can make us wonder if anyone truly understands what we’re carrying. I know what it feels like to search for hope in the middle of unanswered questions, and I’ve seen how easily discouragement can convince us that God has forgotten us. Yet time and again, the Lord has faithfully reminded me that His grace is never absent, even when it is difficult to see.
God placed a burden on my heart to create Our Threads of Grace as a place where broken, weary, and discouraged Christians could find biblical encouragement rooted in His unchanging Word. My desire is not simply to write articles, but to point people back to Jesus Christ—the One who still heals wounded hearts, restores fallen lives, and walks faithfully beside His children through every valley.
Every post on this site is written with the hope that someone who feels alone will discover they are not forgotten, someone who feels defeated will find renewed hope, and someone searching for truth will encounter the love and faithfulness of Christ. If these words encourage even one person to draw closer to the Lord and trust Him more deeply, then this ministry is fulfilling the purpose for which God placed it on my heart.
I believe that no life is beyond God’s reach, no failure is beyond His grace, and no season is without purpose in His hands. My prayer is that as you spend time here, you will come to see that even through life’s broken places, God is faithfully weaving together His beautiful threads of grace. Even when he Feels Silent.
My Testimony and Calling
Like many who will visit this website, my journey with Christ has not been without seasons of pain, uncertainty, and unanswered questions. There have been times when I prayed earnestly for God to move in a particular way, only to discover that His plans were far different from my own. Looking back, I can see that some of the greatest lessons of faith were learned not through the miracles I expected, but through the grace He faithfully provided when life unfolded differently than I had hoped.
God has used both the mountaintops and the valleys to shape my heart. Through every season, He has patiently taught me to trust His character even when I could not understand His purposes. Those experiences have given me a deep compassion for people who are struggling to reconcile their faith with disappointment, loss, or the painful realities of life.
Over time, the Lord began to place a clear calling on my heart—not simply to teach Scripture, but to encourage those who feel forgotten, broken, or spiritually weary. I believe His Word is alive, sufficient, and filled with hope for every circumstance we face. It is my privilege to share that hope through writing, pointing others to the unchanging truth of Jesus Christ and the grace that has sustained me through every chapter of my own journey.
While every believer’s story is unique, mine has convinced me of one unshakable truth: God is always faithful. Even when His answers are different from what we expected, He never wastes our pain. Instead, He weaves every joy, every trial, every disappointment, and every victory into a testimony that brings glory to Him and offers hope to others. A Heart for the Broken
One of the greatest lessons God has taught me is that our deepest wounds can become the very places where His grace shines most brightly. Following the accident that changed the course of my life, I experienced not only physical challenges but also seasons of frustration, uncertainty, and questions I never imagined I would face. Yet as I walked that difficult road, the Lord opened my eyes to something unexpected—I began to recognize that same burden in the hearts of so many people around me.
For the first time, I could truly understand the weight carried by those who felt broken, discouraged, overlooked, or uncertain about what God was doing in their lives. That compassion was not something I could have learned from a book. It was born through experience and shaped by God’s faithful presence in my own life.
It was also through that season that doors unexpectedly began to open for me to preach, teach, and lead Bible studies. Before my accident, I never imagined myself standing before others to share God’s Word. Yet the very circumstance that seemed like it would limit my life became the instrument God used to reveal a calling I never knew He had placed within me.
Today, that same calling continues through Our Threads of Grace. My desire is to encourage those who feel weary, strengthen those whose faith has grown faint, and remind every reader that no life is beyond God’s redeeming grace. If God could take one of the most difficult chapters of my life and use it for His glory, then I believe He can do the same for anyone who is willing to place their life in His hands. If you’d like to read more about that journey, I share it in When the Miracle Isn’t What You Imagined.
My Commitment to the King James Version
For the teaching and writing on Our Threads of Grace, I use the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. This is the translation I personally read, and it is the version I am most familiar and comfortable with through both my own study and the teaching within my church.
Beyond personal familiarity, I also felt it was important for this ministry to remain consistent in its use of Scripture. In a world where many different translations exist, I believe there is value in having a single, unified reference point throughout the articles on this site. This helps ensure clarity, continuity, and ease of study for readers as they move through different posts and series.
My desire is not to enter into debates over translations, but simply to remain faithful and consistent with the version God has placed in my hands and heart for this ministry. The focus of this blog is not on translation differences, but on the truth of God’s Word and the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Ultimately, my commitment is to keep the Scriptures central in everything written here, allowing God’s Word itself—not opinion or interpretation—to be the foundation of encouragement, teaching, and hope offered through Our Threads of Grace. One example of this approach can be seen in the series “The God Who Says, ‘I AM,’” where we walk through the words of Christ in John’s Gospel and see how they reveal His identity and His heart for us.
Who This Blog Is For
Our Threads of Grace was created with a simple but deeply personal purpose: to encourage those who feel broken, weary, discouraged, or distant from God. If you have ever found yourself wondering if your faith is enough, if your prayers are heard, or if your life still holds purpose after disappointment or pain, then you are not here by accident.
This space is for the person who is trying to hold on to God in the middle of unanswered questions. It is for the believer who still loves the Lord but feels tired from the weight of life. It is for the one who has been hurt, overlooked, or quietly struggling while still showing up and trying to believe.
If you are in a season of spiritual strength, I am thankful you are here as well—but this ministry has a special focus: walking with those who feel like they are barely holding on. My hope is that through these articles, you will be reminded that you are not forgotten, your life is not wasted, and God’s grace is still actively at work even in the places that feel the most broken.
My prayer is that when you read these pages, you will not just find words, but encounter truth that points you back to Jesus Christ—the One who sees you, knows you, and has not abandoned you. Whether you are here for healing, reassurance, or simply a reminder that God still cares, you are welcome here.
